INTERNAL QUALITY ASSUARANCE CELL

INTRODUCTION 

The college Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) was established in the A.Y. 2021. Since quality enhancement is a continuous process, the IQAC will become a part of the institution’s system and work towards the realization of the goals of quality enhancement and sustenance. The prime task of the IQAC is to develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic improvement in the overall performance of institutions. For this, during the pre-accreditation period, it will channelize all efforts and measures of the institution towards promoting its holistic academic excellence.

OBJECTIVES:

To promote measures for institutional functioning towards quality enhancementhrough the internalization of quality culture and institutionalization of best practices. 

The To develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic action to improve the academic and administrative performance of the institution.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITY

The institutional policies with regard to quality assurance are as follows.

Ø  Ensure, sustain and enhance the quality of teaching, learning, evaluation and infrastructure.

Ø  Imparting quality education to the masses from the society catering to their diverse needs and fostering global competence among them.

Ø  ICT enabled teaching learning.

Ø  Promotes research culture.

Ø  Faculty empowerment through workshops/seminars/conferences.

Ø  Promoting professional development of the staff.

Ø  Quality feedback mechanism.

Performance appraisal mechanism. 

Contribution of IQAC in quality assurance processes:

Ø  IQAC has suggested conducting seminars/workshops/conferences. During last five Feedback forms for evaluation of teachers by students are developed. Feedback forms stakeholders are sought on teachers, curriculum and campus.

Ø  Department wise examination results are analyzed and reports are communicated to the principal.

Ø  Recommended for procurement of ICT infrastructure and impart training

Ø  Motivate faculty to adopt innovative teaching learning methods

Ø  Encourage faculty to conduct tours, field visits, surveys

 

IQAC plays a crucial role in connecting and coordinating the various bodies in the institute especially in the matters related to the teaching-learning process in the institute. It functions as an umbrella organ engaging and interacting with all the other systems in materializing its goals and objectives.

FUNCTIONS of IQAC:

The functions and responsibilities of IQAC includes the following 10 Action Points.

Ø  Development and application of quality benchmarks / parameters for various academic and administrative activities of the institution.

Ø  Facilitating the creation of a learner-centric environment conducive to quality education and faculty maturation to adopt the required knowledge and technology for participatory teaching and learning process.

Ø  Collection and analysis of feedback from all stakeholders on quality-related institutional processes.

Ø  Dissemination of information on various quality parameters to all stakeholders.

Ø  Acting as a nodal agency of the Institution for coordinating quality-related activities, including adoption and dissemination of best practices.

Ø  Organization of inter and intra institutional workshops, seminars on quality related themes and promotion of quality circles. IQAC/Functions/MMA

Ø  Documentation of the various programmes / activities leading to quality improvement

Ø  Acting as a nodal agency of the Institution for coordinating quality-related activities, including adoption and dissemination of best practices.

Ø  Development and maintenance of institutional database through MIS for the purpose of maintaining /enhancing the institutional quality.

Ø  Periodical conduct of Academic and Administrative Audit and its follow-up.Preparation and submission of the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) as per guidelines and parameters of NAAC.
